Day 1
Arrival in Tanzania and transfer to the hotel
Arrive in Tanzania via Kilimanjaro International airport Africphotography staff will pick you up and transfer to Moshi town where you will spend the first night at a hotel. For those who will arrive through Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKA) in Kenya, we will get them picked up and transferred by Riverside Shuttle Bus to Moshi.

Day 2
Drive to Londorossi Park Gate 2,360 M and climbing to Mti Mkubwa Camp 2,895 M
Drive From Moshi to Londorossi Park Gate the starting point of the Lemosho trail. Here you meet the rest of your crew and set of at a leisurely pace into afromontane forest. Lunch is taken on trail and camp is reached mid afternoon.

Day 3
Climbing from Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira Camp 1 3,505 M
From the forested slopes of Lemosho you ascend through Podocarpus and Juniper forest and break out of the forest on to the heath zone and the Shira Plateau. Lunch is taken on trail and you arrive in camp mid afternoon

Day 4
Climbing from Shira Camp 1 to Shira Camp 2 (3,840 M)
After a relatively long hike and significant altitude gain, day 4 is a short day and will arrive at Shira 2 camp in time for lunch. A good day for acclimatisation with the option of an afternoon walk with your guides

Day 5
Climbing from Shira Camp to Lava Tower 4,600 M
The route to Lava Tower takes you out of the heath zone in to the aLpline desert zone. Here relatively little flora or fauna can survive the extreme temperature ranges and conditions that typify this zone. A half day where lunch is taken in camp. In the afternoon there is time to go for an acclimatization walk before dinner

Day 6
Lava Tower Camp to Arrow Glacier 4,871 M
The ascent to Arrow Glacier is relatively short and leaves plenty of time to rest for a large part of the day. Short walks are possible with the guides to enjoy views of the Great Barranco and remnants of the once mighty glaciers that filled the breach. Dinner and overnight Arrow Glacier Camp

Day 7
Climbing from Arrow Glacier Camp to Crater Camp through Western Breach 4,600 M
The starting time this morning will be dependant on the previous day’s guides assessment of the weather and snowfall conditions. Ascent to the crater floor takes around 4 to 6 hours and a picnic refuel stop is taken near the top of the breach wall. Once on the crater floor there is time to rest and for those that are feeling strong a hike to the ash pit is a superb option. Dinner and overnight Crater Camp

Day 8
Climbing from Crater camp to Uhuru Peak 5,895 M and descend to Millenium Camp
Climbing from Crater camp to Uhuru Peak 5,895 meters and descend to Millenium Camp 12,590 ft Having early Breakfast at 5.00 am and starting climbing Kilimanjaro summit from Crater camp then descending to Millenium Camp
Hiking hours 8 hours.
Distance 6.3 miles.

Day 9
Descend from Millenium Camp to Mweka Gate 1,640 M
Descend from Millenium Camp to Mweka Gate (1,640 meters or 5,340 feet) 6 hours and distance 7.5 miles. Transfer to the hotel for summit certificate and celebration party.
